The 2012-13 season begins tonight for Florida Atlantic with the first contest of the year.
The women's soccer team will face Jacksonville at 7 p.m. to start what surely will be an eventful year for all of FAU's teams.

Jacksonville's Marie Weckhurst scored the match's only goal with just over one minute remaining in the extra time on Friday as the Owls (0-1) fell to the Dolphins (1-0) in the season-opener.

The Owls allowed three goals in the first 15 minutes and fell to 0-2 in a loss to the Redbirds (2-0-1) in the Embassy Suites Classic in Fort Myers on Friday.

Freshman midfielder Claire Emslie scored a goal and added an assist as the Owls (1-2) defeated the Phoenix (0-3) in the Embassy Suites Classic in Fort Myers in a match played on Saturday due to concerns over Tropical Storm Isaac.

FAU (1-3) fell to the Lumberjacks (1-3) in the Lady Rebels Classic in Las Vegas on Friday.

UNLV's Susie Bernal scored the game-winning goal just over one minute into the second 10-minute overtime period as the Owls fell to the Rebels at the Lady Rebel Classic in Las Vegas on Sunday.
Congratulations to FAU's Claire Emslie, who was named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week.
The coaching staff is very high on her and she is off to a great start.

I 100% agree. From what I saw of the team in the belt Tourney vs. N. Texas (who being No.1 Belt seed were only ok - not real good or even close to dominant), we play a very uncompetitive style or brand of football which will only sometimes win vs. weak opponents and has little chance vs.quality opponents. Maybe that is due to lack of talent or just lame Coaching - in either case, the Coaches fault)!
