FAU faces Coppin State today in what should be an interesting game.
It looks like either Jackson Trapp or Cavon Baker will be starting at point guard with Stefan Moody moving to shooting guard (backing up Gantt is my guess).
Jarvis said he wasn't sure who would be the point guard and if even if he was sure he wasn't going to tell me because then Coppin State would know - I don't blame him for that and I guess we'll find out later today. I'll be posting updates.
Here's the preview we posted on Friday and here's the capsule...
FAU (0-2, 0-0 Sun Belt Conference)

All the Maui Invitational games from Elon Saturday and Sunday will be shown for free here.
I implore you to watch the video, while listening to Ken LaVicka here - FAUSports.com, ESPN760.com.
LaVicka called the Shula Bowl last night and was up before the sun to hop on a plane to call the basketball game - that's dedication!
Jackson Trapp is indeed starting at point guard for the Owls today vs. Coppin State ahead of Stefan Moody.
Moody will come off the bench as a shooting guard.
If you want more info on that move read our preview of the game here.
Halftime: FAU 33, Coppin State 8
...Owls score last 15 points of half. Moody and Trapp 8 pts each in new roles.
...8 points by FAU opponent in half is lowest since last year's 7-point half by ULM
...Moody, Trapp each have 8 points and are doing well in their new roles
FINAL: FAU 64 Coppin State 61
...Owls blow 25-point 2nd half lead but hang on to win.
...Eagles get good look, miss 3 at buzzer.
...Owls win 1st game of 2012-13 season, will face Elon at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
I think our basketball team is in trouble. We are hurt big time without having a compitent pg. Never thought I'd miss Ray Taylor but I do. We had 8 assist spread out between 3 people in the win against Coppin State. We relied to prematurely on an unproven (at this level) player in Moody. In his defense, he may be alright towards the end of the year and this will only be a short term problem.
It is troubling that all of our options involve having a freshman running the point, but I think we'll be fine. Moody is probably better suited tobe a scorer and I think Trapp or Baker could grow into being a decent point guard.
Befopre the season I didnt even consider Trapp to be a factor, but I watched some of the game today on the computer and the dude can ball.
