Talk about coaches being fired, hired, interviewing, etc. here, especially if it has an FAU angle...
BIG news out of Miami, FIU has fired Mario Cristobal!
And I thought Guz Malzhan back to Auburn, creating an opening at Arkansas State was a big one as far as FAU was concerned
Paging Butch Davis. Please report to Little Havana.
Did not do much at NM this year, why would they want him? And after being HC at UM why would you stoop to FIU?
What is NM?
SI.com: Butch Davis is FIU's top candidate after Cristobal firing
hopefully we can steal some of their recruits!
Add Western Kentucky to the list of Sun Belt schools looking for a coach.
Taggart to USF
It looks like everyone who has a chance is bailing from the Belt.
Can't blame them as Taggert will do a great job.
Some of the so-called experts didn't consider him a candidate when Holtz was fired because they didnt know he is from Bradenton and recruited the state heavily.
I thought he would be a candidate immediately. Now, can he win and recruit at the BigEast level? He won (sort of, 7-5 twice) but did not exactly tear up the Belt. And will his being at USF help or hurt the Owls in recruiting, now he won't be taking all those Florida kids out of state at least.
Western Kentucky has reportedly hired former Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino. Here's the story: http://www.bgdailynews.com/sports/wku-to-name-petrino-new-football-coach-today/article_e2846562-42f5-11e2-8feb-0019bb2963f4.html.
Think FAU will hold a motorcycle appprciation promotion or motorcycle safety promotion when WKU comes to town next year?
Just have lots of FAU HOTTIES there to distract him from his job - that seems to be pretty easy!
Here's one fans might be interested in...
Former FAU QB coach Jeff Brohm could be leaving UAB for Western Kentucky.
He has been offered the job, but hasn't taken it yet.
Leave C-USA for the Sun Belt?
I like what I see from our starters on your depth chart Chuck, but as you pointed out earlier, there are LOTS of walk-ons on the two-deep.
I hope for this:
Good story about Jack Pelini http://www.fauowlaccess.com/articles/238/fau-against-nebraska-will-still-pit-a-pelini-against-a-pelini.aspx
I would like to see our offense look sharp and disciplined. Few mental errors and no turn overs. I would like our defense to play tough at the point...
A respectable showing and no injuries.
