St. Augustine wide receiver Bobby Mitchell has committed to FAU, Mitchell told OwlAccess.com.
Mitchell is one of four recruits visiting FAU.
The Owls have been after Mitchell for several months. A senior season that saw the wide receiver catch 52 passes for 1,095 yards and 12 TDs only served to reinforce FAU coaches opinion of him.
However, some of Mitchell's play late in the season has FAU reconsidering how he'd be most useful to the Owls. Mitchell played both ways late in the season and in the playoffs, recording 15 tackles and two interceptions when the games mattered most.
If Mitchell plays wide receiver, he would be the fifth to sign with the Owls this year, joining Lucky Whitehead, Kamrin Solomon, Kalib Woods and Ronnie Scott.
The Owls also have commitments from five defensive backs, not counting Mitchell.
Mitchell told OwlAccess.com earlier this week that if he liked what he saw during his visit he would commit before returning home.
