Eastern Arizona College has already sent offensive lineman Stern Vile to FAU, and linebacker Adarius Glanton committed a couple weeks ago.
A third Gila Monster might not be far behind.
Eastern Arizona coach John O'Mera said defensive end Quenton Brown is visiting FAU this weekend and could commit to the Owls.
Brown is a 6-foot-4, 230-pound pass rushing defensive end with the kind of speed rarely seen at the position.
He originally signed with Central Florida out of Tucker (Ga.) High School in 2009. After redshirting as a freshman, Brown left UCF for Eastern Arizona.
In his lone season with the Gila Monsters Brown recorded 40 tackles in eight games, including 7.5 sacks. earning All-Western States Football League honors.
“He's a big time pass rush guy,” O'Mera said. “He'll be a steal if they could pull this one off.”
The biggest hurdle for the Owls' landing Brown concerns his academic status.
O'Mera said Brown may need to take a summer course to complete his Associate's degree. Should he do that, Brown would likely report in the fall with three years of eligibility remaining.
He could also choose to return to Eastern Arizona for another season.
Brown reportedly held offers from Mississippi, Michigan St. and West Virginia during his high school recruitment.
