3 Days Until National Signing Day / Feb. 3, 2010
Better late than never
Prior to the recruiting season Florida Atlantic coaches said they wanted to bolster the defensive line. Over the weekend they did just that, getting a commit from a third defensive tackle. We also have an update of a recruit listening to another school.

The latest FAU commitments and offers
It took him a while to get there, but once the Hendry County recruit made it to FAU he decided that the Boca Raton campus was where he wanted to spend his college years.
Though Florida Atlantic only brought in a few recruits for the final weekend before Signing Day, it yielded help where the Owls are looking for it most.
FAU added a commitment from a 6-foot-2, 305-pound defensive tackle who could bolster what the Owls considered a position of need.
“They have a good coaching staff and coach (Rod) Payne said he was going to get me big, so I liked that,” Clewiston defensive tackle Willie Huggins said.
Huggins had originally expected to visit FAU the previous weekend, but he said a visit to Georgia St. and a week of school left him too tired to make the trip.
Huggins committed to Georgia St. during that visit. He called Panthers coaches on Sunday to inform them he’d changed his mind.
“FAU and Georgia State - it’s a different level,” Huggins said. “FAU is way above Georgia St.”
Huggins only played two years of high school football. As a senior he spent much of the time on the offensive line, where Clewiston needed him the most.
He did record more than 20 tackles, including three sacks, in limited action on the defensive side of the ball. Huggins said FAU’s desire to line him up at defensive tackle suits him just fine.
“I love defense,” Huggins said. “I love to hit.”
Huggins is the third defensive tackle to commit in the last week, joining Pensacola's Jerome McClain and Panama City-Rutherford's sean Watson. His biggest positive might be his strength. He’s benched 380 pounds and squatted 560.
“He’s the strongest kid we’ve ever had in this school’s history,” Clewiston coach Joe Roth said.
Northern Illinois had also offered Huggins.
Toney Moore hosted Huggins during his visit.
Watson wavering?: Sean Watson expected to take a visit to Baylor this weekend but went to Jacksonville St. after the Bears cancelled the visit.
Watson, who committed to FAU last week, was impressed by the visit but stopped short of changing his commitment.
“I’m pretty much the biggest prospect they have,” Watson said. “They are Division I-AA, so I’m getting treated like a five star. … I’m not saying I’m going to change my commit, it’s just something to think about. I understand they are Division I-AA, but they are real good Division I-AA.”
