Florida Atlantic might want to play a few more games in Tuscaloosa, Ala. after the Owls defeated Alabama 9-4 on Sunday at Sewell-Thomas Stadium to sweep the three-game series from the Crimson Tide.
Dating back to their 2002 Regional Championship victory over Alabama, the Owls have won their last four games and six of their last seven games at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
The sweep was the first time Alabama has ever been swept in a three-game series by a non-conference opponent at home.
FAU finished off this sweep with the help of two home runs by Alex Hudak, who staked the Owls to a 2-0 lead in the first and hit a three-run blast in the eighth.
FAU pitcher Jeremy Strawn, a junior college transfer making his college debut, allowed one run in his four innings.
The Owls pounded out 16 hits off seven Alabama pitchers and had 39 hits in the three games vs. the Crimson Tide, predicted to finish third in the SEC's West Division this season.
