After a injury to Jeff Blanchard in the spring, Florida Atlantic was forced to put untested sophomore Alfred Morris into the starting running back slot.
Morris had a great spring but there was some uncertainty on how he would do in the fall.
It turns out, there should have been no doubt.
Morris rushed for a school-record 1,392 yards and led the Sun Belt Conference in rushing.
Morris also ran for 11 touchdowns.

Why it is important
FAU had been looking for a durable back who could establish the running game. Morris is the player the Owls had been looking for.
And the best part for the Owls is that Morris, who was converted from fullback after Blanchard went down, will be carrying the ball for two more years.
