FORT LAUDERDALE – FAU quarterback Jeff Van Camp threw for three touchdowns and ran for another as the Owls defeated winless Western Kentucky 29-23 on Saturday at Lockhart Stadium.

The Owls (4-7, 4-3 Sun Belt) led 16-14 at halftime. Van Camp connected with Lester Jean on a 16-yard touchdown on the opening possession. Then Van Camp found tight end Jason  Harmon for 15-yard touchdown late in the second quarter.
The Hilltoppers (0-11, 0-7) briefly  took the lead when Casey Tinius hit the first of his three field goals, a 31-yarder early in the third quarter that gave WKU a 17-16 lead.
But the Owls retook the lead on Van Camp’s 3-yard touchdown run on the next possession, giving FAU a 22-17 advantage.
A 27-yard touchdown pass from Van Camp pass to Jean with 6:59 remaining provided the winning margin.
