In the moments following FAU’s 28-21 victory over FIU during which Owls’ running back Alfred Morris claimed the Sun Belt Conference rushing title, tackle Carl Spitale tried to sum up the offensive line’s performance in 2009.
“To me that means we are the best rushing team in the conference – at least the best running O-line and the best running back,” Spitale said.
Spitale and his crew weren’t exactly one dimensional, either. The Owls’ also boasted the conference’s top passing offense and their 327 points placed them third in the conference.
