Mattear falls short at NCAAs

Florida Atlantic's Toyria Mattear finishes third in heat in women's 400-meter hurdles prelims, doesn't qualify for Saturday's Finals at NCAA East Regional meet in Greensboro, N.C.

Florida Atlantic junior Toyria Mattear finished third in her heat in the women's 400-meter hurdle preliminaries at the NCAA East Regional in Greensboro, N.C. on Friday

Mattear's 1:01.22 wasn't one of the eight-fastest times in the eight heats and she failed to qualify for Saturday's finals.

FAU junior Friederike Feil will compete in Saturday's finals of the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase.
