McHugh invited to NCAA golf tournament

McHugh becomes first FAU golfer invited to NCAA tournament since moving to Division I.

Florida Atlantic University sophomore Kelly McHugh has been invited to the 2009 NCAA Golf Regionals. The event is schedule for May 14-16 at the RedTrail Golf Club in Sorrento.

McHugh, of Lakeland, finished the 2009 season with a 72.61 stroke average through 26 rounds of golf and finished nine times in the top 10. McHugh scored two birdies during the last round of the Sun Belt Conference tournament to finish tied for 25th (73, 76, 74-223).

McHugh is the first FAU male golfer to receive an invite since the Owls moved to Division I in 1993-94.
