Tuesday’s FAU Daily Briefing: 7-on-7 workouts winding down

The pre pre-season is nearly in the books as the Owls took the practice field for 7-on-7 workouts on Monday.
The players are far from mid-season form, but they are definitely looking better than they were a few weeks ago.
There are plenty of plays being made on defense, which is probably what you would want to see the most from these workouts.
Here are a few observations from Monday…
- It doesn’t look like senior receiver Grant Glover is ready to just allow himself to fall behind on the depth chart. I really like what I saw from Glover in the spring and if he can keep up the same rate of improvement he had in the spring when he got extra reps when Avery Holley and Amos Wood, who left the team, weren’t practicing. he could be included in the rotation.
- Freshman quarterbacks Nick Bracewell and Stephen Curtis appear to be settling in, but were pretty limited to throwing just short passes on Monday. It seems building up their confidence is the first order of business as they get ready for training camp.
- Some of the defensive lineman were working out to the side on Monday. Standing out there was Cory Henry, who has really put on the muscle. Let’s just say Henry doesn’t look like a true freshman – and probably won’t play like one either in pre-season practices.
