Tuesday's Required Reading: Fans should let FAU know they want more tailgating

On Monday, FAU Athletic Director Craig Angelos and the staff of the athletic department held plenty of meetings to review and analyze their game-day operations.

Angelos gave us an overview of how the meetings went for this story.

I didn’t put it in the story, but I did ask Angelos about the numerous complaints I saw on Owl Access and other sites about the rule limiting tailgating to four hors before and no tailgating after.

I was a bit surprised when Angelos said he had not heard or seen any of those complaints, but it is understandable since he spent virtually the whole day in a series of stadium-related meetings.

My point is this: Don't think that Angelos or any other athletic department staffer is sitting around reading comments on web sites or reporters’ blogs.

If fans aren't happy with the rules they should let Angelos know. His email, which is found on FAU’s website, is athleticdirector@fau.edu. I'm sure he’d like to know what Owl fans thought of the day Saturday and how the department can improve.

BTW, here was our take on the first day of stadium operations and we also paid attention to on-field activity with our 1st and 10 look at MTSU.
