Spring football game likely to be on April 14 in FAU Stadium

FAU football fans, get out your calendar and save the date.
The Owls are tentatively planning to hold their spring game on Saturday, April 14 in the new on-campus stadium.
If that date stands, and it sounds like it will, that means spring practice will begin on Monday, March 19. The Owls will practice on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, while holding meetings Tuesdays and Thursdays. Friday, April 13, the day prior to the spring game, will also be reserved for meetings, but could become a make-up day should one of the earlier practices get canceled.
The time of the spring game has yet to be determined.
Even though I liked the cozy feeling of the scrimmages behind the Oxley Center, moving the game to the stadium is a no-brainer. Any chance FAU gets to put people in that stadium to watch football can't be passed up.
Personally, I will be looking forward to seeing the new offense in that stadium for the first time.
Also, I know we have plenty of local coaches, parents and young players who look at this blog, so here's more calendar material. FAU football coaches are hoping to hold at least three camps during the summer, all of which are tentatively scheduled to run consecutively in the middle of June.
They are planning for a youth camp, a high school individual camp and a high school team camp, all three of which are expected last three days apiece.
We'll update fans on these camps when more information, including schedules and availability, becomes available.
