FAU forward Kore White answers challenge of going against North Texas forward Tony Mitchell

Florida Atlantic may have found the key to lighting a fire under forward Kore White.

Just match him up against a likely NBA Draft pick.

Knowing he would be going against North Texas forward Tony Mitchell seemed to do the trick in the Owls' 86-81 double overtime victory over the Mean Green.

Did White (pictured) dominate Mitchell? Not even close, but he did score more points then he did (White had a career-high 23 points while Mitchell finished with 22 points).

Yes, Mitchell had 22 rebounds to White's nine, but the challenge of going against a player who will likely be a millionaire this time next year was enough for White to provide a glimpse into what kind of potential he has.

“He's supposed to be a pro and that's somewhere I am trying to go,” White said. “Either you step up to the challenge or you back down.”

And White came up biggest on the scoreboard. Let Mitchell have his 20-20 game, despite a fantastic individual effort, White and the Owls came out on top.
