College baseball season begins one week from today and after the football and basketball seasons, FAU could use a team contending for the Sun Belt Conference title.

Will the Owls be in the hunt? On paper, FAU looks to have a pretty good team and the reports from pre-season practices are pretty good, so maybe it will be an exciting season at FAU Stadium and its accompanying Port-o-Potties.

The official Sun Belt Conference poll was just released today and the Owls are picked to finish fourth, which might not be enough to earn a NCAA Regional invitation, but the season starts for real next Friday with a game against Alabama.

FIU and Troy finished in a tie for first, the league's coaches voted.

Making the Pre-season All-Sun Belt team are OF Alex Hudak, P Hugh Adams and C Mike Albaladejo (pictured), who interesting enough, may be the Owls’ second baseman.
