Report says FAU has offered defensive coordinator position to Miami-Ohio's Pete Rekstis

The internet site coachingsearch.com reported Tuesday night that FAU coach Carl Pelini has offered the defensive coordinator job to Miami-Ohio defensive coordinator Pete Rekstis.

Rekstis was the Red Hawks’ defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach last season and was the defensive coordinator and safeties coach for Kent State from 2004-2010.

Before Rekstis took over at Kent State he was at Youngstown State from 1999-2003.

Pelini told Owl Access on Monday he hoped to have the search for Marvin Sanders’ replacement over by this week. Sanders left FAU for Southern Cal earlier this month.
