New Jersey shooting guard Chris Jenkins visiting FAU

A couple of days ago we told FAU fans that Gary Gaskins, a center with offers from Oklahoma and Arkansas, would be spending this weekend in Boca Raton on official visit.

He isn't alone.

Gill St. Bernards (New Jersey) shooting guard Chris Jenkins is also in town.

Jenkins, a sharp shooter who averaged 17 points per game for Morristown-Beard as a junior, is actually making his second trip to FAU. He toured FAU over the summer.

"I came down in June for the unofficial visit but i couldn't really get a feel for how the school really is," Jenkins said.

Jenkins transferred from Morristown-Beard to Gill St. Bernard over the summer.

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound sniper is receiving interest from some solid mid-majors, including Drexel, Northeastern, Florida International and Robert Morris. Jenkins made an unofficial visit to FIU during his summer trip, but as of yet does not have an official visit planned.

Like Gaskins, Jenkins doesn't expect to commit to FAU during the visit. He, too, is not in a hurry to sign during the early signing period.

Still, it looks like FAU coach Mike Jarvis and his staff are off to a fast start on the 2013 recruiting class.
