WR William Dukes may miss Alabama game

Florida Atlantic receiver William Dukes had a breakout game vs. Georgia, but he may not be available for this week's contest at No. 1 Alabama.

Against the Bulldogs, Dukes had 98 yards receiving on five catches including a 48-yard reception that put the Owls at the 1-yard line and set up their second touchdown of the game.

However, Dukes was carted off the field after receiving a leg injury late in the game.

Owls coach Carl Pelini said Dukes' injury, and a leg injury to backup quarterback Stephen Curtis, were not serious, but could keep them from playing Saturday when FAU faces Alabama.

“Both of them are short term,” Pelini said. “I don't know about this week, but neither of them have any kind of fracture.”

Dukes Tweeted on Monday that he had a “calf contusion” and was receiving treatment on Sunday and Monday.

If Curtis doesn't play vs. Alabama, redshirt sophomore Nick Bracewell could see action. Bracewell saw the playing field for the first time late in the Owls' 55-20 loss to Georgia on Saturday.
